| UNZA is a Government Institution mandated to provide tertiary education including undertaking of research, consultancy and public service. A number of departments of the University offer courses related to Remote Sensing and GIS such as the departments of Geology, Geography and Geoinformatics Engineering. The Geology Department has moved ahead by putting in place a Computo-Geological Advisory Unit, which is basically a remote sensing and GIS lab for teaching, research and consultancy in this area. The department is the School of Mines. | |
