The Kalimanis Group began as a logging business. It has since developed to include interests in seven forest concession holders (HPH), five timber estates (HTI), seven wood manufacturing and four wicker/office furniture companies, two pulp and paper companies, three chemical producers, three marketing firms, an industrial wood waste management business and a manufacturer of support equipment for petroleum drilling.
Kalimanis has been a pioneer of the Indonesian Government's industrial forest plantation program (HTI), Designed to maximize forest management based on sustainable environmental practices, which is included in its mission statement:
"...to continuously manage and preserve the tropical forest as a multi-purpose natural resource for the welfare of all mankind".
