| The Centre de Suivi Ecologique pour la Gestion des Ressources Naturelles (CSE) has been created by senegalese public institutions, with the support of the United Nations Program for the sudan-sahelian (UNSO) and the funding of the danish Agency for cooperation (DANIDA). Nowadays, the Centre has become an association grouping the State, the funding entities (PNUD/UNSO), the private sector, the local communities and the personnel of the Centre itself. The CSE mission is to collect, process, analyse and distribute data and information about the territory, natural resources, using also spatial technologies, in order to improve the management of those resources and of the environment. Since 1987, CSE has been regularly monitoring, by the use of advanced techniques, parameters linked to vegetation, fires, pluviometry, agriculture and farming. |
