The Laboratory of Sciences of the Climate and Environment (LSCE) is a mixed unit of research CEA-CNRS created in January 1998 by the fusion of the Center of the Low Radioactivities and the Laboratory of Modeling of the Climate and the Environment. Within the federation of laboratories of the Paris area that the Institute Pierre Simon Laplace constitutes, the activity of the LSCE is centered on the study of the mechanisms of the evolution of the climate and the external environment of the Earth.
