Masdar

Masdar Institute is a research institute focused on advance energy and sustainable technologies located in Abu Dhabi (UAE).

 In particular, the Earth Observation and Environmental Remote Sensing Laboratory is currently involved in several research projects focusing on developing new satellite-based tools to forecast, detect and monitor different environmental hazards in the UAE and the GCC region.  Its research activities include thermal mapping of urban areas, land cover monitoring, solar and wind potential mapping, real time dust detection and coastal water quality monitoring from space.
